To further encourage students and because there is a large uncertainty in how test results actually translate to ability, tests are set at three levels. In order to reach a level the student should score over 70% in a test set at any particular level. Students negotiate with the teacher as to the test appropriate for them and at the end of the unit a list of criteria describing what the student needs to know in order to be successful in a given test is provided.
